2 days ago i was walking down the stairs and slipped and twisted my ankle and heard and loud 'SNAP!' and it all the sudden my ankle bruised up and swelled up. I went to the minor emerency room cause i thought FOR SURE i had broken it. (because i had broken my arm before and i knew what broken bones felt like) so we got there and the doctor though it was broken as well. he took some xrays and i guess there were no fractures. i didnt belive it. he said that there is a chance, its very rare, but there might be a chance that its broke and they just didnt get it. so if its still this bad in 3-4 days, go to your doctor and have him xray it. But, he thought it was just a sprain. So, he sent me home with an air cast.
i can't even put weight on my ankle it hurts so badly, i can barly wiggle my toes, and to move my foot side to side or up and down hurts like heckkkkkkk.
things havnt got any better. is there a chance that my ankle is broken?
or is it just a bad sprain?

because the sooner i know what to do the sooner i can get this thing better or in a cast or somthing.
thank you.

Kristen:

There is a chance you've broked your ankle.
But let me answer your question
Symptoms of a sprain are simillar to a brake e.g.
swollen/brused foot, discomfort or even anable to walk on the foot anable to move it in normail motion so if the doctor didn't see any beke in the x-ray is probably a really bad sprain but if a were you i would go hospital and ask for crutched.hope my reply help any body.
