Q: Spotting on Lybrel?

I started my third pack of Lybrel last Friday. I've been spotting since the middle of my second pack (roughly 3 weeks total) and it's starting to become annoying.

I knew this was a possibility when I switched pills, I just didn't expect it to last this long or be as heavy. Has anyone else experience this with Lybrel? If so, how long did it last? The info says most spotted through the sixth pack, which isn't very encouraging.

Yes, most women do spot through 3-6 packs, then you should have the real absence of a period.

It is not dangerous, but it can be annoying.

me too!
Almost exact same situation. I started bleeding towards the end of my second pack and I'm halfway through my 3rd pack and I'm still bleeding! It's not as heavy as a normal period, but it's enough to be very annoying and it's grossing me out. I'm also having mild cramps every now and then. The Lybrel website says that if you bleed for longer than a week you should contact your doctor. What do you guys think? It seems like I am not the only one going through this.

But do you have cramps that accompany the bleeding as well?

Thanks!

me three!
I'm at the end of my second pack right now and I've had a light period for almost 3 weeks! The first week of bleeding was light but constant. Now there's randomly a couple of drops here and there, sometimes with one or two days of absolutely no spotting in between. No cramps though... has anyone else experienced this and successfully waited it out? Like others have said, this is getting really annoying!!!

Update!
Well, it would seem that my spotting has finally stopped. I'm almost at the end of my third pack. I have only been "spot free" for a few days, so if it starts again I'll let you know!

I'm in the middle of my 2nd pack and I've been spotting everyday since the beginning of this pack. It's very annoying and I just wanna know if anyones has stopped??? If after 6 months it stops I'll just wait it out but if not I might switch.

It just stop within 3 months, if not then you may want to talk with your doctor about switching pills.

Hated it!!!!!!!!!
well i'd have to say, the weight gain for me was minimal but the bleeding, well, it's been over an entire year. I kept holding out on stopping them because some people have said it took up to 8 months. 8 months rolled around and I figured I have come this far why not wait a few more months. Finally after one whole entire year of bleeding straight everyday, it stopped. Unfortunately it only stopped for 2 months then returned. I am going back to my doctor to switch. I am one of those people who have severe cramps/endo so I needed some relief, this gave me none! I would have loved to be one of those cases it worked for, having no periods is something I long for after trying the depo shot and seasonale and gaining 20lbs!!!!
