Q: Spotting but no missed pills?

Well I just got off my period about 9 days ago, started my new pill package like normal.. and I took my pill about a half hour late yesterday/the day before because I slept through my alarm.. which I never do! Could I just be "spotting" because I took my pills a little late? .. or could this be something else? This happened before I got my period also. I went to the gyno right before my last period and they said everything looks good.. Me and my boyfriend recently did just have sex, I dunno if that could be a cause too.. I'm not pregnant right? I might have answered my own question but I'm looking for other peoples insights. Thanks!

How many pills did you miss and how close where they to your 'dummy pills'?

Are you new to birth control pills or the brand of pills? How long have you been spotting between periods?

No, I've been on the pill for almost 2 years and I was spotting for 2/3 days. I didn't miss any pills, I just took both of them like a half hour late.. I was on my 9th day pill when I posted this so I probably took my 7th and 8th one a half hour late.. I heard it doesn't hurt to take it a half hour late, atleast what my doc told me.. but the spotting stopped now.. Do you think thats just what it was??

Probably.

If it keeps up, then talk it over with your doctor because you may need to switch pills. Sometimes breakthrough bleeding just happens, but as long as you've been taking your pills correctly then you'll still be protected.
