Woman’s period can vary both in color and/or quantity and it is still considered normal. It is not unusual for the brown spotting to appear slightly before the period. Having your period just as expected (durance, quantity of blood) rules out the possibility of pregnancy. However, in order to be completely sure you might want to use home pregnancy test and/or visit your gynecologist.
