Q: spotting at 18 weeks

For about a week now I've been having light pinkish to brownish spotting. I went to the ER on Sunday and everything this was fine.
Now it happens about once a day, just enough to show on tissue paper. The doctor said there is really nothing to do about it at this stage. I don't have any other symptoms, no major cramping.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen? What was your diagnosis, and was everything okay?
Any sharing would be appreciated.
