Hello, I am at the end of my 6th week of pregnancy. I found out that I was pregnant at the beginning of my 5th week. I have been spotting different colors brown/pink/red for over a week now. Called my ob doctor and was sent to have my blood drawn last week. On Wednesday my hcg level was 600, on Friday it was 1400. My spotting stopped for one day, then started back up to a brownish discharge. Then yesterday I had a clot the size of a dime and had another hcg level test done and now it is at 11000. The rest of the day I had no spotting, and I have experience NO cramping. Today the spotting started again, and its bright red. What's going on? I am getting a u/s on Monday. But I am worried sick. First how much is to much bleeding? All my spotting has been when I wipe. What color is a bad color of spotting? And lastly why would my hcg levels keeping going up if I am still spotting, and having a threatend miscarriage/abortion?

Adding to my previous post
Since I posted this, my spotting has again, nearly stopped. I have to say this is the most confusing, stressful, and exhausting thing I have gone through in a long while. While my hopes and wishes that my pregnancy progresses, I kinda wish I knew one way or the other what is going to happen. I am sure many of you can relate.

Crossing my fingers, and doing a lot of praying that my pregnancy progresses and I will have a healthy baby in about 8 months.

update
So ended up going to the ER last night, cause the spotting got worse. They did a u/s last night, and everything looks good, actually measuring to be only 6 weeks not 7 weeks. My hcg levels are at 31000, and cervix is closed. So, so far everything is fine. Not sure where the bleeding is coming from though. But today it has subsided again, so far

Sorry I keep reposting, but I am just wanting to keep it updated, and to see if anyone else has gone through this. Today after my recent post, I started spotting again. It is a little heavier and bright red, with a couple clots. Sorry if that is TMI, but I am really really really confused. I have been in bed and drinking water. So hopefully all this will subside. I hate feeling like this, because I really dont know when is the right time to go to the the ER or not. I am having no cramping still, so I am going with that at this moment. If it continues the next few days, then I know I will need to call the doctor.

Same experience, early pregnancy spotting
Appreciated your updates. Am almost at week six, and have light pink/brownish spotting since the day my period was set to arrive. Not enough to warrant a panty liner, just there when I wipe too. Have done 4 tests, all say YES+ and had blood work done today, shld know results tomorrow. Trying not to stress too, just want to know that all is ok. My mom says she spotted her whole pregnancy with my sister and when I told doctor today, he said it was fine as long as it wasn't enough to fill a pad or period-like. Hope things go well for you, keep posting - it just helped me knowing someone else is having similar experience!

Bad news...saw my doc today, and with an HCG level of only 40 when it should have been closer to 1,000, my doctor told me to expect a miscarriage. Still have to have blood tested twice more to establish if HCG is dropping/rising but at this point, I'm trying to work through the disappointment and look forward to trying again! Hope things went better for you.

update
So sorry to hear about your bad news. I actually found out that I have what they call a subchoronic hemorrhage. In most cases they resolve themselves. So I am praying that I am one of those most cases. This pregnancy has been very stressful. It's hard to get excited, when I don't know what the outcome is going to be.

Praying your HCG levels go up..you could be earlier on then what you thought...so don't give up hope.

I have had the same problem since the day I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks i have been off and on spotting red/ brown and pink. Somedays nothing but most days something. Its really confusing and worrisome... we lost a baby 2 years ago at 11 weeks and have been trying overall for almost 4 years now.... we were so delighted to be pregnant but everyday is such a rollercoaster. I have had my levels checked every day they are going up but not doubling after 2900 the next 2 days later was 4500... so that worried me a little too but 2 weeks of spotting and no cramps and hcg levels not great but still rising... trying to keep hope. We go for a 6 week ultrasound tomorrow to try and see whats going on really hoping to see a heartbeat but being realistic not sure if we will.

Spotting
I am having the same issue now. Spotting on and off, but not enough to get on my panties. No cramping or pain. I had a six week ultrasound last week, saw the heartbeat, and today found out my HCG numbers are good (took the blood draws 48 hours part). Doctor not nervous, but will have an ultrasound later this week and at 8 weeks. Thank you for sharing your story!

Miscarriage or not? :(
Hello. I am wondering if anyone can give me some answers? I had 3 HPT return positive results so I went for a blood test two weeks ago. My results came back at 19 and the doctor said I was pregnant. One week later I had very heavy bleeding and clotting for three days. My doctor sent me for a scan and there was nothing visible on a stomach ultrasound but the internal one revealed a small sac. I had another blood test yesterday and my levels were 19 again. (Hcg). The gp thinks I have miscarried but it is hard to know a definite answer. I am going for another blood test in 3 days to test my levels again. We are very fortunate to have a lovely 21 month old girl and understand things happen for a reason. Any honest advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

Add to that I had severe vomiting 24hrs before I lost all of the blood and nausea for a few days where I could barely stand. Very watery diarrhea and couldn't eat for 5 days. Yesterday I felt better. Today, 100%.

Response to Lillie
Hi Lillie
Take it easy and try not to stress out too much. I know its hard when things like this happen but as you said everything happens for a reason.
Now just to let you know... I have a very healthy 2 yr. 4 mo. girl. When I found out I was pregnant (a surprise after 15 years of nothing) I also had bleeding for the first 4 months off and on. Sometimes it was so heavy I thought I had miscarried. When they did the scan there was a sac but no heartbeat. She showed NO heartbeat until about 12 weeks!! I had to do the same thing you with the bloodwork. If it rises in the next three days you should be fine. If not then it COULD mean a miscarriage but I have heard of woman who dont rise a quickly as others. I will say a prayer for you and hope all is well. The waiting game is so difficult Sad

im jade, recently i found out i was 5-6 weeks pregnant, a couple of days after finding this out i started to get some light brown discharge which got darker and thicker, i was then at work and started bleeding a small amount so went to the hospital.

i had an examination and my cervix was closed but my pregnancy hormone levels were low, i also had an internal scan which showed that my egg had been released from my right tube, although i could see my tiny egg on the screen it was showing to of not implanted itself in the womb yet or where it is meant to go to start growing but results showed that there was no dangerous fluid and the lining of my womb ect was all smooth and i had normal physilogical changes.

After this i was sent home and told to come back in a couple of days for repeat blood tests to see if my hormone levels had doubled unforchantly they hadn't they'd dropped down, and i have started bleeding and having some what looks like clotting within the blood to,which i am needing to use a period pad for.

although i am not in any pain more just discomfort. I have been back today to have more blood tests for my hormones and am expecting a scan early next week.

this is my first pregnancy and i am really worried. I have read that some women have low dropping hormones through-out there pregnancy and still have a healthy baby whilst others suffer from a miscarriage. I have also read that this could be implantation bleeding I am so worried.

so confused!!
I am 7 wks preg. I've had spotting, bleeding, and cramping for the past 5 days now... been to the er twice and they both tell me the same thing, baby is fine, good heartbeat and levels ok. I called my ob doc, he reads both er reports and tells me that my levels are going up and down.. baby's heartbeat is a little low but not worried about that. I go for another ultrasound Tues. to check the baby. So im so confused cause I'm getting diff answers. Ive been on bed rest since the bleeding started. Has anyone else had something like this?? and how did it turn out??
