I have been spotting a tiny bit on n off this pregnancy, and have been worried as i had a miscarrage at the beginning of the year. I went to see my doctor when i was 9 weeks and 2 days n he did an ultrasound and there was a healthy little heartbeat, so that made me feel better. The doctor said that i should be feeing pretty safe at this point because if something was going to happen it would have already. But then the following wednesday i went to the toilet in the morning and when i wiped there was bright red blood. But then no more. but that day and all night i had cramping. Then today i have brown spotting and more uncomfortabe cramping?? I am now no longer feeling so 'safe' and am quite scared. Is miscarrage common at 10 weeks?? Has anyone else had this??? I don't want to go the the emergency as when i last miscarried, the nurse and doctor made me feel like crap. They assumed that i just wanted 'another' ultrasound and that i 'cant keep coming back in every 2 weeks and wasting time'. Mind you i had clotty bleeding and hectic cramps. they did an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. of course the doc apologised, but now im too scared to go back there. Sad can anyone help?

Hi shelley78,

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Yes, by all means please do go back to the ER if you feel you are losing your baby. The ER personal were absolutely wrong in their unprofessional treatment of you and your unborn child. Please contact the adminstration personal office and complain. Now, as to you discharing bright blood that isn't a good sign, that means the blood is fresh. Since you haven't had any more of it that is a good thing. The brown spotting is discharge which means it is old blood making its way out of your system. Since you have already had a miscarriage, make an appointment with your OB/GYN as soon as possible (ASAP), tell the advice nurse you have had a prior miscarriage and is expericing some cramping and spotting.

God Bless, keep us posted

I agree with Faded Rose!! There is never too much concern about pregnancy especially when you have miscarried in the past. I believe (at least in my experience) they will tell you to take 48 to 72 of bed rest and then do another evaluation......I had a lot of those during my last pregnancy.

Congrats and good luck....

thanks guys. i really do appreciate the support.
I had REALLY bad period pain/cramping today that had me almost doubling over. I thought for sure this was it. I went to the doctors and he did another ultrasound, and my baby was kicking around madly. It was great. but also not so reassuring was that he could not tell me why i keep having these horrid cramps and spotting. (brown for last couple days) sorry if TMI. he tells me again i should be fine at this point, 11 weeks tomorrow. he was not sure if some of the black stuff around the outside of the uterus was blood, cause as he says his not a sonographer, but he said it looks pretty much like everyone elses......so i think should just take a breath and relax now.
i will keep you guys posted. thanks again!
