Hi there,

I have been on the BC Yasim for about 8 months now and it has been working great to regulate my periods which were all over the place before.

Well last month we were going to Florida and my Period was due while we were away so my dr told me i could start a new pack of my pills rather then take the white reminder pills and my period would not come.

Well that worked great no period while away but when i got to my second week on the new pack i started spotting abit and bleeding a bit ... not alot but enough to require a pantyliner and its bright red not browny colored.

What could be the problem anyone have any ideas? Do you think this is likley being caused from skipping the sugar pills and going to straight to a new pack?

Its been about 6 days now with this light bleeding ... my normal period only lasts about 3 days!

Thanks for any replies!

Cathy

This spotting is completely normal because you skipped your period. Your cycle should return to normal after your next placebo week.

i was on yasmin 28 pack for a full year until i finally made the switch to a different birth control. I found that with yasmin if you missed a day of your pills it makes you reallyl really sick. i would be puking for days at a time.
But to your question.
yes it is normal because you did not have your period that month. It is only okay to skip your period but only when you NEED NEED too. You should have a period normal the next month if you take all your pills right.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I changed my birth control i started it this month.. sunday is my last pill so i get my period next week.. but for a couple of days now i have had spotting and weirdly dark brown bleeding.. i'm thinking its cuz i changed packs or something and my body is not use to it.
so just keep taking your pills everyday and if this keeps continuing id see your doc.
