Hi, I'm 20 years old and have been on a generic for yaz for about 6-7 months now. I recently started my new cycle, so I'm just getting into my second week of the new pack. I accidently missed taking the pill 3 days in a row and the last time I had sex was Friday morning. I am now experiencing light spotting and a cramp-like feeling on the left side of my hip (where the ovary is?) I have had no problems with my bc, and am currently losing weight through diet and exercise. Can someone please tell me if it is normal to be spotting after skipping 3 days of the pill in a row?

Yeah, spotting is normal.

You need to use a back up method for a week of taking your pills correctly (not include placebo pills). You're not protected right now

Any time you do not ingest hormones, it causes the steady flow of hormones you usually experience from the pill to drop. Esp after missing three days.

It is possible to ovulate during this time or, more importantly, during a later time, even your placebo week. Since you have not had this steady flow of hormones, your levels could drop low enough to ovulate at any time this cycle. I would suggest using back-up for at least the rest of your pack and a week into the next one to be extra safe.
