I was diagnosed with late onset Type 1
Diabetes. About 6 months prior to the
diagnosis... I noticed small spots of
pigment loss on my forearms. No itching,
completely smooth. Nothing painful. They
are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in diameter and
they have a tiny pinpoint sized red dot in
the center of each. These spots have
multiplied to cover my forearms and the
tops of my legs. They are now starting to
cover my upper arms and I've seen a few
around my shins and calves. I have been
to so many doctors and dermatologists and
none of them know how to treat me. I've
heard that I have reverse freckles, a
fungus, a rash.... none of this has
proven to be true. The spots do not fade
or get worse with sun exposure. There is
no change. The spots will fade for a few
seconds if I rub my skin very quickly.
They do worsen in cold weather. I have
had these spots for over two years now.
It's almost like tiny broken blood vessels
all over my arms and legs... but with the
white pigment loss around them. I have no
idea what to do to stop this progression
or improve on it. Even worse: Doesn't
your skin warn you of problems within your
body??? What is the true culprit? Any
ideas?
