I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and take the medication, spironolactone, to balance my hormones. I am aware that this medication can cause birth defects. I do not want to keep taking this medication if is going to cause any harm to the baby. I need to find out asap if I'm really pregnant or not. is there any way to know sooner without getting blood drawn? Is it safe to continue taking this medicine for a month until i'll know if i've missed a period or not? I know that the first few weeks of pregnancy are the most crucial for a baby. But if I test now, I will probably get a false negative because it's too early. I don't know what to do.
