HELLO, I would like to ask you if it is possible for a very bad reaction to the ct scan dye. Ultravist was used, then my husband has had pain and weakness and we have gone for several more test and was told he has severe spinal stenosis. It was after the antiflac shock, it became a full time search for the cause for the pain. We are so confused could this be the cause for the spinal stenosis.

The ultravist is not the cause of your husband's spinal stenosis.

The medication that was used for the CT scan is a dye to make the pics from the CT scan more clear to see and show more detail.

What ever was going on in your husband's spine was there before the CT scan and had nothing to do with the Ultravist.

I'm surprised that an MRI wasn't done instead of the CT.

What type of tests has your husband had beside the CT scan?

Has your husband been evaluated by a spine specialist?

Do you know what the specific results are for any tests that your husband has had?

Fran
