my husband is a fireman and a wk ago he responded to a call for a patient who was later diagnosed with spinal meningitis. the local hospital did a blood test of some sort and cleared all firemen that responded. my question is could he have transfered the germs to me. i have been extremely tired, headaches, no appetite and had diarhea. please let me know what you think.

spinal meningitis
well from what i remember when my son was 3yrs old he had that & he had a fever of 104.5 & his dad & i were around him & so was the doctors & nurse's we all had to take some pills together in front of each other so we didn't catch it, that was back in 1982. Their was a lady in her 30's who had it then, but they said then it was rare for her to even get it cause it was a kids disease. But my son wouldn't eat all he did was cry & his body felt like you could not touch him unless you had a pot holder in your hand, and his spine curled. If i was you i would go get checked its better to be safe then sorry . I don't want to scare you but people can died if not getting it cheched out, its nothing to mess with if it was to get real bad, good luck to you & I pray you don't have it & don't have to go thur all the stuff I went thur with my son when he was 3, he is now 27. They got is in time while he was in the hostial but he wears glasses now because of the side affects from it.
