Q: spider bites on body ?

My little boy has several bites on his shoulders, arms, leg and head. They started out looking like mosquito bites and have enlarged in size (width, not raised). I'm worried it could be spider bites and will take him to the dr. if it gets worse tonight or tomorrow. He doesn't have a fever, the bites are itchy and flat after a day. We had been camping last week, so I thought it was weird my mosquito bites were almost gone and his looked fresh yesterday when I bathed him. Now the ones on one of his shoulder and his arm are less raised, or flat, yet the redness spread, and not a perfect circle. Here are pics. Any advice, info, help or treatment would be appreciated.

It doesn't look so much like a spider bite to me and it is probably black fly or mosquito. It could also be a chigger bite (which is a kind of spider.) Make sure all the camping gear and clothes are washed well because chiggers aren't visible and can stay around for a long time attached to clothes and get on you later.

However I could be wrong, so if they seem to get worse, your son is in actual pain, or he develops a fever, call the doctor right away.

You can apply otc hydrocortizone cream or similar anti-itch cream to make him more comfortable.
