My husband has been tested in various ways over the last 12 months for infertility. His ulrasound and blood work check out, but his sperm analysis show no sperm present. His urologist recently conduct a biopsy to see if he was producing sperm and we were told that he does produce sperm, but they are too immature for even IVF. The doctor told us this is a rare condition and that there's very little research we can do and that there's no existing treatment to help them mature. As a trial he prescribed a medicine actually used for breast cancer treatment called Ardminex to take for six months. The doctor said this medicine may help build more hormones to help the sperm grow but our chances are only about 2% so it's hard to get excited about that. Has anyone else had a diagnosis like this?
This has been the most awful, devastating thing that I've ever had to deal with in my life. I am trying hard to support my husband and not be upset abotu thsi around him. But I find myself crying all the time about it when I'm alone. I wanted a baby with him so bad and none of this was ever expected. I think the hardest part is delaing with all my pregant friends and sisters around me. It's such a bitter sweet feeling to be happy for everyone but I feel I'm entitled to my feelings. I feel absolutely hopeless at this point...
