I'm a 27 year old male, generally healthy, here is my problem:

For the past few weeks I've had some lower back pain on the left side. Today I noticed that when I touch a certain area on the lower left side of my back (just under ribs) I feel quite a bit of pain. It doesn't pain much on its own unless its touched. The pain goes some what to my left side. My feet seem to be quite cold most of the time, and there are times when other parts of my body seem cold. I don't know if this is related but I also have two spots on the backs of my calves where the hair has fallen out. Any ideas on this would be very appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome to e health forum.

It is difficult to make a diagnosis without a complete medical history and physical examination.

Lower back or flank pain is a physical illness related to nerves, muscle, bone and abdominal-pelvic organ. The common causes (considering your age) include:

- Nerve root syndromes - these produce symptoms of nerve impingement (a nerve is directly irritated): Herniated discs, Spondylosis and Spinal disc degeneration

- Musculoskeletal pain syndromes like myofascial pain syndromes and fibromyalgia.

- Infections of the bones: Bacterial and spinal Tuberculosis

- Noninfectious inflammation of the spine (spondylitis) can cause stiffness and pain in the spine that is particularly worse in the morning

- Renal stone, stress, anxiety, depression and somatoform disorders.

The exact cause can be determined only with proper medical evaluation and hence it would be recommended to consult your doctor for proper help.
