Sore white pimples in mouth
User Profile
I am a STD free, healthy, 32 yr old woman who received oral sex 3 weeks ago with a new partner. After 1 week I had a mild sore throat for about 3 days with no other symptoms. 3 weeks later I developed a tiny sore white pimple on the side of my tongue, that I only feel if it rubs against my teeth. Also at the same time I've been experiencing groin pain in my right leg.

I told my partner about this and he said he had a negative Hiv test about 3 months ago. I dont know if I can trust his answer, because he was very upset that I asked him about his status. It made my worried that he would become so upset just from me asking him about it. I havent had an hiv test yet, because I think you have to wait 6 weeks to see the right diagnosis anyways.

My existing conditions are low thyroid function and adrenal exaustion with chronic anxeity and stress.

If I was exposed to Hiv, would I be experiencing all of these symptoms so soon or could these be from my existing conditions?

Hi and welcome to the forum! I am glad that I can help you.

You would like to know whether the sore white pimple on the side of your tongue or the groin pain that you experience are caused by underlying HIV infection or your existing condition of low thyroid function and adrenal exhaustion.

Tiny sore white pimples in the mouth, on the inner side of the cheek and on the side of an individual's tongue may appear in small accidental bites of the lining during eating. If the bitten lining is contaminated by food or due to a low level of oral hygiene, the lining may inflame into sore white pimples. These kinds of sores may disappear even without treatment, but if the sores are bigger and interfere with talking antibiotics, may be used according to an antibiogram. The groin pain may appear due to increased lymph nodes, small infections like folliculitis, muscle pain, etc.

Given the data that you described, it is likely that the cause for the sore is a small bite of the tongue or the sharp edge of a tooth. You may consider avoiding consumption of salty and sour food to prevent any pain. You may consider having HIV diagnostic tests no less that 6 weeks after the event to rule out HIV infection.

Please keep in mind that I provide medical information only. I am not able to diagnose medical conditions online. Please contact your doctor for further advice and information about treatment of your current condition.
