I was prescribed Levitra after undergoing a series of medical tests. My doctor said this was the best option and had the fewest side effects. The results were tremendous and I thought all my issues were solved. I use it responsibly and take only one 10mg tablet per week. I am otherwise a physically fit forty year old with an athletic build due to my road running.
Soon after taking the first tablet, when I say soon I would say by the next day, I noticed small veins showing on the rim of my penis gland. I hope these are the correct words to describe the area of my penis where the problem is. These small veins were not evident before. They look as if they have been pushed up about .25mm which is not very much but they are slightly above the normal skin. I can see about three on the left and three or so on the right of my penis. Other than that it looks relatively normal. The problem is that these apparent veins are very sensitive and normal fore play and hetro sex has become difficult to the point that my relationship is suffering. After normal sex I see the rim of my penis becomes red for about the next two days, especially these veins. The rest of it looks and more importantly feels normal. They are very sensitive and at first I thought I might have caught something however nothing ever happens. They get very red and burn a little then it seems to recover and settle down until I have sex again, which is why I have got to the point that sex is no longer enjoyable because the after effect is troubling. I treated the sore area by putting Bactroban ointment on the red sore areas which calmed it down until I resume sexual intercourse. This has been going on for about eight months now!
I am seeking answers to the following question as well as any other help you give.
Are these raised veins on the rim of your penis a side effect of using Levitra? What else could cause this if it is not the Levitra? What would be the best way to treat the sore red raised vein and surrounding skin? What test could be carried out to determine if this is something else?
Thank you for your help.
