Contact your ENT and let him know that you are getting worse. Maybe he can order your cat scan sooner.

You might also consider finding a second opinion? I've had one Dr. tell me nothing was wrong with my ears, only to be seen by a different Dr. 2 days later, he diagnosed me with an inner ear infection! Hope you feel better soon!

Try modifying your diet:

Less salty foods
Less spicy foods
Don't eat/drink anything too hot or cold
No tea or foods/drinks made from powders
Try some warm water with lemon and honey to soothe your throat

A sore throat can be transferred from your nose though your nose might not have much discomfort or pain.

If you have accompanying nasal problems (i.e. can't breathe through your nose, stuffy/runny nose, lots of drainage from your nose to your throat) try blowing your nose more often, drinking plenty of water (warm up your water if it's more soothing on your throat) and you might even want to try rinsing out your nose with a weak saline solution (salt water).

If you've ever had allergy problems before you might also want to try some allergy pills.
