Hi, I am a 24 year old female, currently taking birth control, Serevent, and Flovent (inhalation steroids for asthma).

One week ago I came down with a sudden onset 100-101 degree fever, headache, and very strong sore throat that did not respond to cloraceptic throat spray. I also got enlarged lymph nodes below my jaw bone, sore neck, and greenish brown very thick nasal discharge. No rash of any kind.

I went to the doctor, through quick strep test and culturing the doctor ruled out strep throat, and told me to call in if it gets worse.

Well it has been 1 week since the onset of symptoms, and fever came down, and no more headache, but I still have sore throat, slightly enlarge lymph nodes, and green-brown thick nasal discharge.

I was wondering if all those symptoms fit into mono (I haven't had anything resembling mononucleosis for as long as I remember), or whether it's some other bacterial infection. And should I go to the doctor for more tests?
