I have had a sore throat for the past 7 weeks, I am on my 4th course of antibiotics and am feeling no better. The best way of describing it is to say that my throat feels strained, when I look inside my throat it is red. The only other symptoms I have had have been tiredness which has improved marginally although still is affecting my ability to function at a normal capacity. I have already had mononucleosis. I had a lung abscess at the end of last year which required I.V antibiotics as well as oral for 6 weeks, prior to this I had had surgery to help with chronic sinus infections as I was always on antibiotics, this surgery was done in September 2008 and I have had no sinus trouble since. I am thinking about going to another doctor as I do not like taking this much antibiotics, especially when they are not working. I would just like to get to the bottom of this and start to feel well again.
