Q: Sore throat and mouth ulcers

always get sore throat with fever and mouth ulcers from more than 5 years.always sore tounge difficult to eat and sore mouth . white and red throat . what is my disease ?doctor did tonsils operation but same as before . is it because of allergy because doctor told me that it is because of allergy problem. how can i cure this . which test i can do to check my desease ? i always have mouth ulcer like sore tounge and sore mouth ? why is this so ? i have this problem from more than 5 years. one doctor told me it is because acid makes in your stomach that comes to throat . pls reply i m tired of my disease.

Acid reflux, or an allergy, or both can be causing your sore throat and mouth ulcers. You are already allergic to several food-types so you could be allergic to more foods as well. Acid reflux can be confirmed or excluded by measuring the pH value in the mouth and esophagus. You may also have an infection – bacterial, viral, or both (mixed). You can have a mouth and throat sample taken for microbiological examination (culture for bacteria and PCR for viruses).


Therapy depends upon the diagnosis. In the mean time, you can use topical antiseptics for gargling.


You may want to consult an ENT or dentist about your problem.
