Q: Sore throat and ear

I have been experiencing a pain on one side of my throat for almost a week now. it feels like there may be something in my throat that i am unable to swallow. recently the pain has moved to up to my ear. I am not sure what could have caused this to happen. I have been taking vitamins and they ar epretty big so i'm not sure if this pain could have been caused by scraping. I'm also not sure if it could be tonsil related. Please advise as to how i might go about treating.
