Over the last few weeks/month and a bit my breats have become bigger. I am 19 and they weren't that big before so i feel more in proportion now however they are quite 'hard' feeling and sore at times. I wondered why this could be? my mum asked me this evening if i could be pregnant and i automaticaly said no as i didnt think i could be but now shes making me think about it. I was with my last boyfriend for 2 years and we were sexually active for the last year but we broke up in january and i havent been with anyone since and have had all my periods i couldnt be could i? the thought wouldnt have crosed my mind until my mum just genuinly asked me if i could be!
what do you think it could be?
thank you

You cannot be pregnant if you have not been sexually active for 6 months, and have been having regular, normal monthly periods throughout this time.

You are still a very young adult, and your breasts will likely continue to enlarge and change over the next few years. Although I cannot offer any specific diagnoses over the Internet, young women frequently have tender and fibrocystic breasts, and often these symptoms are more pronounced around the time of a woman's menstrual period. (However, the presence of a lump in the breast should always be evaluated further by a physicican.)

Sincerely/ Robert A. Wascher, MD, FACS

Are you gaining any weight? You would be around 5 months so surely you would gain a little weight.. I would take a pregnancy test just to be sure..If its negative its prolly just your breast growning, but if it continues to be a problem i would go to the dr.If you have anymore ?s you can pm me
