Hi, Im a 44 yo male who has had a very sore shoulder for 10 months now. It was after playing tennis for about 4 weeks. Now I have very restricted movement and a lot of pain but only with certain movement. I can throw a punch forward no problem but I'm not able to throw a stone, I can't sleep on this side, too much pain and sometimes I have pain going down to my elbow and many times I have pins and needles in my hand on this side. I have been going swimming every day now for a month , just gentle but have seen no improvements. I live in Thailand, no NHS, so treatment is expensive, is there something I can do myself. This has now been 10 months and Im completely fed up. Please help.

Extremely eHealthy
this may sound crazy but it helps the pain in my shoulder. take some sandpaper and sand a flat surface for about 15 minutes or as long as you can. avoid the swimming because it hurts. dont throw anything.

Hi stuey43 and welcome to ehealth: Sounds like some Rotator Cuff damage or else a tear in the muscle...This happens when you can't throw anything as there is no strength in your arm...Again the pain when you sleep on this side indicates this problem..My husband has had two surgeries of this type...One on one arm and two on the other...Seeing you have no Orthopedists around the best thing I can say is to rest it...It will not heal on its own...Stay away from Tennis...Horrible thing to say, but you now have age against you...Good luck....
