There is a rather sore bump right on the rim of my anus that upon further inspection in the shower, seems to originate in the rectum. I can feel it there always, but it becomes moderately painful if I cough, flatulate, "make stool", or for any reason clinch my anal muscles. At first I thought it might be a cyst because I have had one before right below my tailbone, but its not yet as painful as I recall that cyst.
Like I said, I inspected it in the shower b/c the hot water seemed to soothe it quite a bit to where I could touch it with only mild pain. I squeezed it thinking it might be a pimple of some sort, but I didn't feel any matter inside of it. Its almost like a ballon of flesh. I vigorously scrubbed the darned thing for at least 2 minutes with a washcloth and 4 different soaps, including acne body wash. Naturally, given the location, I cannot see it so I don't know what color it is. I first noticed it wiping after using the bathroom about two days ago. I hope and pray its not a cyst because I know how uncomfortable they are and they just make life a living h***.
I checked webmd to see if I could diagnose it and the closest resemblance I saw was something about some tissue of the rectal wall protruding from the anus. Sorry to be so graphic, but I've been down this road before and I find that it is best to give as many details as possible. I just wanna know what it is and will it go away without medical intervention requiring a doctor?
Oh wow! I got that to, we just alike. I was washing my butthole and all of a sudden i felt like a bump so yeah i played around with it, and thought it was a pimple to! It hurrrrt like foreeal. Thanks for the info i don't feel alone now.
Question : How did you get it removed ?
Its hemorrhoid, go to a general surgeon or colon-rectal specialist in a day or 2. You might have figured it by now. Don't scrub or pinch it. Wash after every BM, don't use tissues. You have to handle it gently. Apply hemorrhoid cream on it to get relief from itch and pain. Follow the instructions given in the below link.
I agree it sounds like an Externally Thrombosed Hemorrhoid(I'm not a doctor though). Most info on the web indicates it should resolve itself in two to four weeks. For more immediate relief, you might have to have it excised. The most painful part of this IMO is the local anestesia shot(s). Post recovery, BM's can sting and bleed for a few days or longer. Sitz baths and ice alternately can help with this.
Some thromboses can take longer to go away on their own.
Stay hydrated and take stool softeners.
