Hiya. I'm Dani and I'm 15 (16 in a few days), and for the last 3 months i have had an on-going vagina problem. As the subject explains, my outta lips and in between vagina have become very sore, inflamed and red.

The first days i began to get very irritated outside of my vagina. I assumed it would pass, and maybe be down to shaving. After a day or two, the irritation spread from my outta lips to inside my vagina (not directly inside), but around my clitoris and inner lips. I tried to ignore it as not to make the situation worse, and got myself some canesten thrush pessarys and cream. Unfortunately, this didn't work and the situation only got worse.

At this point i began going to my doctor, who also prescribed me some thrush treatment and urged me to go to the STD clinic as i am sexually active with my boyfriend of almost 2 years. After about 2 months of dealing with the pain, irritation and un-comfort, when i finally decided to go to an STD clinic and get myself checked. After 3 weeks of tests and examinations, i was given the all clear for everything. I was given antibiotics and two sorts of cream; Aquaous cream which stung, and dipro-base cream. Neither of which worked. After a week of being off of all my pills and a dischargement from the STD clinic, my body naturally fixed itself, but only for a few days.

The pain, inflammation, irritation and discomfort along with the red raw colour of myself, is back. When i scratch myself, which isn't very often at all, it feels as though i am ripping my skin off of myself. My clitoris hood is extremely sore and brings me to tears when it is irritating me. When i've itched it, it feels somoene has ripped it open and i'm tearing it even more.

Also, the joining of my outter lips stings and burns when its touched. I do get a burning sensation when i urinate but I'm assuming that is where I've cut myself through itching. I do have a yellow mucus colour discharge which appears thin but is very thick on my cotton under-wear. I have been reduced to tears very frequently through the pain.

I/m going to my doctor when i can get an appointment to hopefully get referred to a gynecologist or dermatologist, i just wondered if anyone had any ideas of what this problem could be. I have changed all my washing liquid to non-bio, i've stopped wearing any lacy underwear and stuck to cottons, im not using any soaps in that region, i haven't changed my condom brand which i have been using for just short of a year now, i have tried anything i can to see what the cause could be but nothing seems to work.

I appreciate any reply's and any help offered. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Much appreciated.

Dani

You do not say if you ever get a bad smell. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) have the symptoms you describe but it is also associated with a foul fishy smell, always or just around sex or your period. If it cleared up for a few days with antibiotics it can certainly be BV.

Best of luck with this problem!!

No, i haven't noticed any unusual or foul smells coming from my vagina, i have been to my doctor today and shes doing a test for thrush for the third time, given me some different pills. Bit of a joke tbh. Should have sorted this out a long time ago Sad. I have it constantly. Even throughout my period which causes great discomfort to me as i cant use pads because it hurts wiping myself when i change my pad, and tampons hurt when i insert them and remove them, i find it easier to use tampons as theres less wiping involved. Sad. Lets just hope they sort this out hey lol.

Thank you Susan. x
