Hi! I just posted this same question in the breast forum, but seeing as how this has to do with birth control, I will also post here.
I started using Othro Tri-cyclen Lo 6 months ago. Never used birth control before this. My breasts used to hurt a lot before my period before I was on birth control. Well, they still hurt, but now it seems like they just don't stop hurting!! The past 2 months or so my breasts have hurt more days than usual; rather than just hurting about a week before my period, they hurt all the time, some days worse than others. At first I thought it was a stupid bra I was wearing that had some wicked underwire and just didn't fit too well, but I've stopped wearing the bar and my breasts are still sore. They hurt mainly on the outter sides and underneath. I have never missed a pill, and my boyfriend and I always use a condom, everytime, even if we just fool around. I went to the doctor about a month ago on an unrelated issue and took a urine test, not pregnant. My breasts hurt the same then as they do now. I am so sick of my girls hurting, it's so irriatating!
Has anyone else had similiar experiences with birth control? I am new to this and totally in the dark. Confused Any comment would be welcome!
Thanks, and here's hoping for no more breast pain!

Yes, this is one of the side effects of birth control. Hormonal birth control tricks your body into thinking it is pregnant, and so many of the side effects of birth control are very similar to pregnancy symptoms, including sore breasts and mood swings.
