Felling of something being stuck in the throat is known as globus hystericus.
Usually, it is due to the post-nasal drip, infected mucus from the sinuses and nasal cavities drains down the back of the throat, irritating everything in its path (post-nasal drip happens when there is a thick secretion like in a case of sinusitis, or when there is a increased thin nasal secretion due to allergies.
Also, this can be caused by stomach acid that regurgitates in GERD sufferers.
Acctually, the lower throat and larynx, are inflamed by acid and digestive enzymes when acid reflux occur.
Anxiety, can bring on this feeling.
Certain medications can lead to same, too.
It can be associated with hoarseness or a change in the voice, and, as you said, usually, get worse in evenings.
Very rarely, these symptoms mean something serious.
To be on a safe side, visit an ENT doctor.
For beginning, avoid smoking(it adds to inflammations of throat and laryngeal structures).
Best wishes!
