Q: Soft painless lump on elbow

About a week ago I started working out, specifically I did some bench press and curls. I had not worked out in some time. After 2 days of those arm exercises, I found that I could not extend either arm fully without a lot of pain and forcing. This lasted about 2-3 days, and even then my left arm was still in some pain when I extended it fully.

I continued to workout my arms when I used the rowing machines at my health club and also I ran, but I did not do any arm specific lifting exercises. Then 6-7 days after my initial arm lifting exercises, I found that the out side of my left elbow and onto my forearm had swollen up greatly. It was not painful, but my left elbow region was very swollen. After a day or two it appeared to go away, but then after I showered today and was typing on my computer, I found that the lump had reappeared on the top of my forearm, granted slightly smaller, but nonetheless quite noticeable.

The lump itself is actually incredibly soft and entirely painless, though my left arm in general is still somewhat sore. I can squish it all the way in, and to some extent it appears I can make it move around by squishing it. After I squish it though, it becomes difficult to distinguish whether it is actually indeed a lump or fluid moving around my arm and grouping up to form what looks like a lump. Putting an ice pack on it did not help and in fact somewhat appeared to enlarge the swelling.

I contemplated going into the doctor, but as it is a weekend and it appears to not need immediate attention, I thought this was an okay option.

Please let me know what you might think this swelling/lump/fluid is, whether it needs immediate care, or what I can do to get rid of it.

Similar thing--
I have a lump on the inside of arm just above elbow crease. It is fairly firm and the lump itself is not painful, but the last three weeks my arm is painful to move. It feels sore when I move it like I have lifted too much....but I haven't. I showed it to a dermatologist and he told me to see a surgeon and have it removed, but I just lost my insurance.
