So scared, masses, "necrotic subcarinal adenopathy" and..

I have been having chest pains since January, keep going to my family doctor. He did ekg's, chest x-rays, blood work, NOTHING. Went to the ER a couple of times because of bad pain. I finally begged my doctor to do a CT, with-in hours of having it done, they called my doctor which in return called me to come in. This was just 4 days ago, he showed me images of my CT, it shows "necrotic subcarinal adenopathy" that is 6.7 cm by 5.5cm. Said it was a big mass between my lungs and it has pushed my tracea clear over. It hurts SO bad. Then he continues to tell me that they also seen a mass that is 2.3cm enlarging the left adrenal gland. and several smaller nodules through out my body including one in my left upper lung lobe. I am set up to see another doctor at our local "cancer center" for this next Friday. In the mean time I am short of breath, in severe pain (ibuprohin is the only thing that helps a little) a nervous wreck! I am trying to stay positive, but I just don't feel good, and have a bad feeling. Are they gonna remove this mass that is hurting me so bad? I have heard so many people say that "oh once they cut on you, it spreads so bad" has it spread already? having so many masses in so many places? I am only 41, and have grandbaby's to watch grow! I just don't know if I can get through this.
