Sorry, I wrote earlier and got cut off by accident. My sister lives with my parents and is driving them nuts. She is constantly hacking, sniffing, gagging and all sorts of things like she is trying to suck everything from her head and throat out of her body. It is literally disgusting. She does it from the moment she wakes until she goes to sleep. No... she does not hack anything up. It appears to be some kind of a nervous thing since she does it constantly (the past 3 years). She's gone to doctors who have no explanation for it. I personally wonder if it's her constant overuse of Vicodin. She gets 30 per month and at least every other month goes to the E.R. for withdrawls because she claims she runs out (she's suppose to use it 1 x daily). Honestly, she doesn't need them and I wish the M.D.'s would find a way to treat her for the addiction as I feel this is all related. Is it possible that the vicodin is causing her throat to swell causing her to feel that she can't swallow and that's why she's doing it?
