I haven't been smoking for an extreme amount of time, but it's been long enough now to say that it's become a habit for sure. I'm not a heavy smoker. A heavy day for me is 4 cigarettes, but I know that it's still horrible for me. I'm a singer/pianist, and I love my voice. That's the biggest concern for me. I'm going to try to wean myself off of them, which shouldn't be as hard for me as it would be for a chainer. But it's still hard for me. How badly do you guys think one or two cigarettes a day/every other day while drinking hot tea and honey everyday will effect my voice?

Hi BL. I'm not sure what the effects will be but it seems like you are trying to negotiate the consequences. Why no quit totally? Here's some information about how to quit smoking: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/quit_smoking/in dex.htm

Thank youuu. I had two today, but I plan on not smoking again tomorrow. I'm actually surprised at my self control...maybe that's because I haven't been smoking very long/often?

My sister and I sing acoustic rock together, and by myself I play piano.

Hi Sweetie! Me Fairy*Godmother
Hi there, I took 9 years of piano lessons and have 6 years of voice. I sang in a band here(locally) for years. I do know the effects cigarettes have on not only your voice, but body in general. I was ONCE a first soprano.........now I'm lucky to hit a good alto! I smoked from the time I was 18 until I was 32. I have been quit now for almost 19 years...........hardest thing I ever did, but the smartest. I am proud of your for your self control....and thats jsut the thing about cigarettes. Are you gonna allow htem to control you? OR are you gonna take charge, and not allow them to alter your beautiful singing voice, your lungs, your skin, hair and other vital organs? Mouth cancer and throat cancer from cigarettes are not attractive. I do wish I'd listened when others tried to tell me to quit. And now that I think back, I think I allowed the cigarettes to be a crutch. Something I could fall back on. Take control Girlfriend, and toss them now.........you can do this! Always here to supoort you if you need me! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
