hello.i am 30 years old..for the last 6 months whenever i smell smoke or if i am near smoke..any kind of smoke..cig..incense..firewood..(i do not smoke) it bothers my throat and the roof of my mouth..(or any kind of strong scent..perfume..hairsprays..detergents)..o n the roof i get a bump and it just bothers so much..i go through a bottle of dayquil in a week..because it soothes it..mt doc isnt sure what it can be..i went to an alergy doc..and nothing there..my thoat doc says getting tonsils out may help but not sure it will..i wont go through a surgery if it wont cure my problem..maybe i should see another throat doc..has anyone ever had this problem please let me know..

Id' suggest a second opinion from another ENT doctor. If the second doctor suggests removing the tonsils, go for it. Also, have you been to the doctor when the symptoms are present? Maybe it would help to bring a cigarette or incense to the doctor's office?
