I am worried I am having a smear test on the 19 august. Last time I had one they found some adnormal cells. which I had treated. My question is can the test be adnormal again I dont want to go though treatment again. I am so worried in case it happens again.
Yes, you can have an abnormal test again. My sister went through this and had treatment. She had to have treatment a few times, but she's okay now. It's just something you'll have to go through, even though it's hard. It's better to take care of the problem now, and avoid a potentially worse situation. Treatment for cancer is far worse than treatment for abnormal cells. I've seen both happen to people, and neither is good, but cancer is wayyyy worse. Hang in there, and good luck.
thank you for your reply Chrissy. I had a choice last time what treatment I wanted I could have a hystomstory ., but I chosse another option I wish now I had taken the op choice. I think next time I shall opt for the hystomary if I have the choice.
Do your research before you choose a hysterectomy. That is a major surgery that does not 'cure' HPV - the most likely cause of abnormal cells. You can still get abormal cells, but instead of getting them on your cervix, they will be on your vagina.
A hysterectomy may be best for you. But research and a thorough discussion with your doctor should be the first steps. The other treatments are much easier to deal with than a hysterectomy.
