Q: Smart for a 21 month old ?

My daughter seems to be smart for her age. I say this because she can already count to 8, and knows some of her abc's. She also knows some of her colors. She is very clear (for a 1 year old) when she speaks. She can say almost anything I say she will just repeat it. She knows how to use the potty, wipe,flush, and all that. Is that normal for a child that will be 2 on June 10? Or am I just unaware of the developmental stages Smile

I am guessing she talks so well because I never used "baby talk" with her I talked to her like I am talking now. Could that of helped with it?

Yes, it does sound like you got very lucky! The developmental stages that you read about in books are the average of the entire spectrum. I don't know if your child is a complete genius, but he is definitely up there with the more gifted children! Congrats Smile

hay you are gifted but my son was completly potty trained at around that age. and i could have full conversation with him, ok it was about nothing good, cartoons and his toys n that but he was really good.
But he helped me threw a rouff patch in my life and we will always have that conection,
he knows when mummys upset and usualy knows why lol.
