small pain in head
Posted: 08-18-08 16:44pm

For the past year or so especailly I have had this small pain in my head and it comes and goes but it doesn't last long at all. Sometimes it feels like it could be behind the eye but it's hard to tell exactly where. Anyway I've heard that it could be a result of a brain aneurysm and just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. I do have pressure in my head often but think that it is from sinus pressure from allergies. I don't really know if it's much to go to the doctor about. I am at the computer often in dim lights and think it could just be eye strain. I appreciate in info on this subject at all.

A headache from an aneurysm is due to the rupture of the aneurysm and is the commonly referred to by the patient as "the worst headache of my life". The onset is sudden and is usually accompanied by vomiting and in some cases may lead to losing consciousness.. The headache will persist despite any pain medication given. A ruptured aneurysm is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention and surgery. A CT without contrast dye is the diagnostic test to confirm the diagnosis of a ruptured aneurysm.

You do not have a ruptured aneurysm. You would not be on your computer if you did. I think you are right that the pressure you are experiencing is from allergies. Have you tried using Claritin or Zyrtec to treat the headaches? You may want to try that.
