Q: Small lump near anus

hi, ive recently in the past 2-3 days found a small lump near my anus,it hurts a bit if you touch it n can itch a tny weeny bit,its a tiny bit smaller than a pea, im really worried about what it may be because ve never seen or heard anything lke it.. and im too afraid to go to my local GP out of embarassment. if you could help me out a bit that would be great.

Based upon your description, this lump is most likely a thrombosed (clotted) external hemorrhoid, but it is impossible to make a specific diagnosis over the Internet. In most cases, thrombosed external hemorrhoids will resolve over a few weeks time. Therefore, if this bump persists for more than 3 or 4 weeks, then you should let your GP take a look. Also, you might try and increase the amount of fiber and water in your diet, as well.
