lately...when i go to urinate for the first half a second to a second my urine will burn..but right after i go for a second it will stop burning..also it is almost like not a burn but just hot...also it does not happen everytime i go..only certain times....i have had unprotected sex and am currently waiting on test results for any std's..although the symptoms of most std's dont fit my description..i do not have any discharge and the pain is not that severe...i do drink a good amount of alcohol and soda..i was wondering if this may be the reason it is happening..any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated..thank you very much

I've got the exact same thing. Started about 8 months ago but got worse since 2 weeks. I also drink alcohol every night like 3-4 beers average. I also drink a lot of water (easily 3L per day)

Also I've had bladder infection 2 years ago had to stay 3 days at the hospital with antibiotic injections.

Does anybody know what causes the burn?

I've got an appointment with a doctor in november.

The symptom of a urinary tract infection (UTI) is burning during urination. Bad cases also have some discharge. Antibiotics are typically required to treat a UTI.

You may also want to drink cranberry juice, which is known to help prevent UTI's.
