I have been diagnosed with this hernia over 2 years ago. My food does not stay down and sometimes I vomit blood. It is very painful associated with headaches burning feeling on the stomach. I have several ulcers around the hernia. The pain keeps me out of sleep, lack of energy and constantly tired, with hot and cold fevers and los of hair. My medication is Topzole 40mg one in the morning and one in the evening. Please can you give me some answers as I am really suffering. Also lack of appetite and loosing weight and constant coughing up of phlem. Mad

I am assuming that you are referring to a hiatal hernia (a herniation of part of the stomach through the diaphragm). If so, and you are having nausea and bloody vomiting, then you may actually have something called a paraesophageal hernia. The "ulcers" and "vomit[ing] blood" are very concerning, and suggest that the blood supply to your stomach might possibly be impaired by your hernia (which, in turn, can lead to life-threatening complications, in some cases).

Based upon the information that you have provided, you should ask to be immediately referred to a surgeon who is comfortable managing hiatal and paraesophageal hernias.
