My mother (87) had a stroke (first time) last week (7 days ago). She was discharged after 5 days from the medical-clinic as the doctors found everything normal with blood-sugar, pressure, MRI, CT-scan and other tests. But my mom lost her speeches (not the memory)...except just uttering some unclear words.
Some new symptoms started to occur from yesterday. She started to have severe diarrhea. She sleeps more than few days before, looks pale and very tired, does not want/feel energy to try to talk as she did two days ago. We were very hopeful when she was discharged, and thought that physiotherapy (as recommended by doctors) and our nursing would be enough to recover the damage.
I must appreciate if you could give my some suggestion.

Hello and welcome to e health forum.

For your information, lethargy, fatigue, sleepiness, Personality changes, Mood changes (depression, apathy) are some major symptoms seen after an episode of stroke.

Symptoms and disability following a stroke vary greatly depending on factors such as the part of the brain affected, how quickly treatment was given, and the extent of the damage to the brain.

Usually most patients who have had a significant stroke, recover and regain some function within weeks after a stroke. But some having extensive involvement may take months or years or might be irreversible.

You might consider getting her evaluated by a neurologist , who can help in her recovery.
