I present as a 49 Y-O, W/M with hypertension by history. Hypertension was under control with Avalide 150/12.5 X 14 mo. and maintained control post-withdrawal X 2 years with mild increase to borderline hypertension with an occasional spike. Today, has not been good on that front with 2 readings of 156/96 and 146/98 ... I'll continue to monitor that. Today, BP down to lie 141/88 and a lot of the dizziness is curtailed. I take no regular medications except multivitamin daily in the morning and use neither illegal drugs nor alcohol nor tobacco. I am also obese with a BMI of approximately 39.5 though I am a tall gentleman
Through most of my life, I have maintained regularly good function with probably 6-9 hours sleep per night. I usually am hard to awaken in the morning and that has been consistent over the past several years. Since around last March or so, I have been rather "blah" and low energy throughout the day. Sometimes I would seem "slowed down" and upon presentation of significant but non-catastrophic stressors, would often become seemingly immobilized. While I lost interest in many things that used to give me pleasure, life was not bad during this era and I did take pleasure in a lot of things, especially with my child. No thoughts of suicide or self-harm though comments were made to me during the period of being irritable. I did have to fight self-deranging thoughts during the period, especially as it applied to perceptions of what others would consider as my value in the work-place.
About a month or so ago, I went from 5-7 hours of sleep per night to an average of 3 hours per night-Range from zero hours to 4.5 hours per night--most nights, intermittent sleep; however, during this period I was a lot more energetic and even a bit "giddy" at times though not real often. Sometimes (sporadically) I would find myself talking fast but not pressured, per se. No extra shopping. Though I did have an increase in sexual energy during the period, I have avoided any misdirection (married) of that new found energy. (Family entertainment sessions were between 7-10 days apart on average and are now closer to every other day).... despite the average of 3 hours of sleep per night, I have more energy now than I have in years. My mood is really good and I find myself smiling a lot more. No voices in my head, per se, no hallucinations, and no delusions. I do have occasional light headedness when I have gone a couple of days off of 2-3 hours sleep, total.
As a point of reference, I often lay down like 6-7 hours but am awake during much of the time. Multivitamin introduced not too long ago but I take it in the AM and the correlation (time-wise) to the change in energy is weak.
Just wondering if you could present some ideas on what is going on and options for moving forward.
