Q: Sleep disorder caused by chronic virus ?

I read an article that mentioned a possible relation between chronic viruses and sleep problems.
chronic viruses, as oppose to regular ones, like CMV, EBV and herpes, can stay in our system for life time, even when the disease is gone, and can interfere with our immune system and cause negative effects like sleep disturbance.

I suffer from Sleep disturbance for a long time now, and this may be a complete new direction to explore...
Since I am trying to avoid drugs and sleep pills, I am going to check the alternative medicine.
There are several antiviral supplements in the market, such as Oil Leaf Extract, wow drops and super Viragon.
A new anti-viral supplement I heard is great; especially for sleep disorder is Gene-Eden.

Has anybody heard/ tried it?

So, I am starting my fifth week on Gene-Eden and things are really improving for me.
It didn't happen all of a sudden, but I feel the change every week now.
I hardly wake up at night, sleep is deeper, and my energy level during day time is rising.
It's hard to believe that two capsules a day are doing the job, but I really feel better.

The only downside is the taste...if I am taking it with meals then everything is ok, otherwise i got an unpleasant taste in my mouth for a couple of minutes.

@Summer: So with this drug do you think you sleep deeper as though if the smoke alarm went off you'd not hear it? or if children were trying to wake you? i worry about that stuff.

@poster: I have sleep problems too, im not sure about the virus thing but i think diet/exercise has alot to do with it too.

Hi Emily,
Yes...same me on both posts, the second one is an update after about a month I am using this supplement- not a drug though, but more like an herbal remedy.
I am not taking any drugs or sleeping pills, only natural stuff, and the reason I decided to order it is because i liked the fact that it's science based supplement.

As to your questions- deeper sleep is only relative to what I had (or more accurately- didn't have) before...
In general, yes, my sleep is better, I guess that if something happens in the house I will hear it, but at least I don't wake up several times @ night with no reason...

The virus- According to what I understood, it's not really a regular viruses like influenza one, but rather chronic viruses hidden in the body and causing chronic diseases and disorders, according to this article this may be the very reason for the sleep disorder.

Anyway, I am also doing lots of exercising, and my nutrition is nicely balanced (lots of fruits and veggies) so this helps too, I guess.

Good luck:-)
