Hey guys. Well, here is my dilemma. I hope you guys can be of help! Confused

SO i was on orthotricyclen for 3 months and switched to yasmine. i'm on my fourth month of birth control but 1st month on Yasmine. I threw away my birth control by mistake! So I missed the last pill of the third week. I started on the new pack right on the Sunday I was supposed to start the sugar pills (june 22nd to june 28th) . I don't know what i was thinking!

NOW..I was supposed to get my period around June 24th but I have missed my period (I'm guessing due to the new pack) I had unprotected sex on June 29th and since I missed my period, I am confused about my ovulation days. I know that I was supposed to ovulate july 1st till july 6th at the latest and sperm lives up to 5 days....

sooo my question is if I had unprotected sex on June 29th and sperm lives up to 5-7 days, is it possible to still have the same ovulation days if I missed my period and how possible is it to get pregnant? ALSO Still on birth control but having really bad cramps. Don't know if its from the missed period, implantation, or what?!?! I'm really confused! Please help!!!

There is no logic to talk about ovulation day while on birth control pills because there is no ovulation when using birth control pills. Birth control pills, that contain estrogen hormones (like Yasmin and Orthotricyclen), prevent the ovulation. When finishing the active pills and starting the inactive "sugar" pills hormonal level drops and that provokes withdrawal bleeding that imitates the real period.
If you start another pack right after you finished the active pills from the previous pack hormonal level won't drop and there won't be any withdrawal bleeding so the "period for this cycle will be skipped.
There is no risk for pregnancy as long as you take the pills every day. There is only a risk for unexpected spotting or even withdrawal bleeding. You should get the regular "period" when you reach the inactive pills from the new pack.

Not having your "period" is completely normal when you run two packs of pills together. You will most likely experience on and off cramps through the cycle, and it is possible you might experience breakthrough bleeding. You are not pregnant Smile
