Q: skipped a period on purpose

well i skipped a period on purpose cause i had a trip coming up. i was finishing up my green active pills and the night that i had to take my brown innactive pills (the ones that make me get my period) i started a new pack(meaning i started my green active pills) my doctor said this was ok and that you can skip a period if you do this. has anyone else done this? i dont think im at risk of getting pregnant cause i started on my active pills immediately right?

NO, you are not at risk for pregnancy.
YOU MAY have spotting or bleeding ANYWAY, so if you do, it is normal.

You could also spot or bleed for 2-3 weeks, that is also normal.

Not all women who attempt to skip a period will be successful.

You are not at risk for becoming pregnant as long as you make sure to continue taking all of your pills on time. Spotting is definitely common when skipping the placebo week, especially if its a triphasic pill (any pill pack that has 3 different colors for the 3 active weeks, like ortho tri cyclen or trinessa).

i've been taking them on time, except for 2 days were i forgot and ended up taking them half an hour late. but i think im ok though i didnt have sex untill the next day at night when that happen i always take my pill at 8pm. i'm cramping like when im about to get my period and my usual symptoms,boobs are achey lol so i dont think i'll be skipping my period again anytime soon.

I skipped mine as well and I have found that my breasts are very sore even after my period should have finished. Does anyone know if this is typical?
