Hi, i have a lump on the upper part of my inner thigh... it is painful, i just noticed it this evening. Its about the size of a dime, and its skin colored. I'm 15 years old, and i think i've had a sore similar to this, although im not certain. I did have some sort of blister between my genitals and my thigh, around my hip where my legs connect (Im not sure what to call that lol) and my Lymp gland was swollen for a while, and red. i believe the cause of that was simply the pants i was wearing since i went camping and happened to go on a 5 mile hike up-hill in yosemite in those pants. I then had a sore similar to this on the other side of my leg but about 2 inches lower and if you are standing up it was kind of pointing down and ahead of me between my thigh and my genitals. that has since gone down, as well as my blister thing and the lymph glands. i now have the one that im worried about currently, its larger and it wasnt painful until this evening. Also, since yesterday afternoon, i've felt like i've been getting a cold, but im not positive. the only reason i'm worried right now is really because of this cold-type-thing which hasnt seemed to have gottan worse during the day, and it doesnt feel like allergies. im just pointing it out because im not positive as to what it might be and im giving as much information as i possibly can. I'm not sexually active. I'm really worried about it - please help!

This could be a boil. A boil will start out flesh colored but will become reddened as it progresses. Boils are due to a staph infection. We all carry staph on our skin but it can be opportunistic and develop into an infection with the right conditions. It may also be a bug/spider bite. It is difficult to say what it is without seeing the lump.

You should talk to your parents. It sounds like this lump is something a doctor should take a look at. This is especially true if you are starting to develop chills. Do you have a fever? If this is the case you need to see a doctor as that is a sign of some sort of infection and it needs medical attention.
