hi im a 23 year old male. ive been having noticable palpitations for about 8 months now, in the past 3 months they have gotten worse. they feel like a flopping or a skipped beat in my chest and throat. i wore a holter monitor for about a month, and they said i had an occasional sinus arrhythmia, and that there was nothing to worry about. but lately i have had some pressure and soreness in my throat, and when ever that happens it feels like my heart wants to palpitate, this might sound weird but when i get that feeling if i close my throat like im holding my breath and try to breath in (with a closed throat) my heart will start to beat fast and irregular. most people would say well just dont do that, i try not to but the feeling in my throat sometimes is pretty intense and if i do that then my heart palpitates a couple times then kinda goes normal for a while. its just been scaring me and i would like to know if this is normal at all, and if you can have skipped beats or palpitation feelings (flopping in the chest and neck) if you have a sinus arrhythmia? im also on metoprolol 25mg, does this treat sinus arrhythmia? if not what does? the palpitations just feel like a sudden thump in my upper chest and throat and it sends a feeling of almost hopelessness through my body. i would just like to get some answers and talk to other people that maybe have had these feelings. i lift weights every other day, and eat very healthy. thank-you...

It's possible to feel the pulse from your heartbeat in any part of your body, which might explain the flopping feeling in your chest and neck. I found a tutorial that might help you understand arrhythmias:
