Q: Signs of pregnancy ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 9th, 2009
hello me and my husband have been trying to conceive for about a year we were both tested and everything was normal. which put our mind at ease and i was calculating my cycle which ranges from 27-29 days. For the past few days i have been feeling nauseous (vomited a few times) before and after i eat, very tired at odd times of the day, sore nipples, lower back pains, and an odd feeling in my stomach(i am not a big girl) so i notice very much when i am bloated this doesn't feel the same my stomach is hard and i feel when i sit down it cuts the breath. when i talk or go up the stairs i get really shortness of breath( i walk twice a day on reg. basis) and i haven't been able to lately. this is the 3rd child (youngest is 8) and i can't remember how it was at first during the other 2 pregnancies. Are these sign of pregnancy i will be late for my period as of Nov.11

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth's Ask a Doctor forum.

The symptoms that you are having (nauseous (vomited a few times) before and after I eat, very tired at odd times of the day, sore nipples, lower back pains, and an odd feeling in my stomach) can be due to pregnancy. They can also be due to stomach infection, stomach flu etc.

Generally the symptoms appear after the first missed period. However if you are having symptoms then you need to take a test if you miss period.

If you have periods you need to consult your PCP regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
