My question is concerning my partner- he developed a rash on his scrotum recently that spread to the base of his penis. i am currently experiencing itching but it seems like a regular yeast infection (i've had a few prior) I was wondering if i may have passed it to him because we did have sex multiple times over the course of a couple days before his symptoms showed up. Before he mentioned the rash, he put neosporin on it and i believe that made it worse. We are wondering if this may be a sign of a male yeast infection or a different std? he said the rash is a red area with few bumps and is pretty well defined. He is having no trouble peeing or discharge.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Your partner should consider visiting a doctor/urologist/Andrologist at the earliest for a thorough examination to confirm the cause. It is difficult to comment on the cause without examining him. It is possible that he acquired infection from you. Avoid self-medication. Drink plenty of water. Avoid having intercourse until treatment course is over. You should also consider getting a vaginal swab/smear test done to identify the causative agent. Get treated simultaneously to prevent chances of re-infection.
Take care.
