I am 20 weeks pregnant and have had a pain on my lower left side for about a week now. Thought it was a pulled muscle but it's not and it's not going away. Any ideas?

It could be the way your baby is situated...

My daughter seemed to always find an area that was uncomfortable for me...

You may want to confirm this with your doctor to make sure it is nothing else...

you do want to go and check with your doctor.
i was 9 weeks pregnant when i found out it was an ectopic pregnancy where the egg is somewhere else other then the uterus..
check it out..
good luck! Smile

I'm 20 weeks pregnant so it's not ectopic. Had a scan yesterday and baby is fine and healthy so guess it must be muscle sprain of just a general ache.

side pain while pregnant
i have had three kids and it always seemed at that point i had pain too. with my first i was concerned but was told it was my muscles and stomach strechting to make more room for the baby. i was told the same with my other two when i had the problem. FYI, the more kids you have the more it seems to hurt cause of scared tissues and from the muscles and tissues being used and pulled.

That's a good point actually. I have actually been pregnant 7 times (i had 3 miscarriages) so it could be muscle and ligament stretching that's causing it. Thankyou for that.

This was really helpful. I am 20 weeks pregnant also and am experiencing left side pain. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday. As long as the pain does not get worse, I am going to just try not to stress out about it. Its just uncomfortable, not intolerable. I've had mine for about 2 days now.

i am 16.5 weeks pregnant and am experiencing the same sort of pain. It can become more intense but that ended up been resolved by going to the toilet! this is my 3rd pregnancy (second child) so i too think it is just muscles streching! keeping positive Smile

I too am 2 days short from 20 weeks pregnant and all my friends that have been pregnant have told me that this is completely normal around this time. This is your muscles and stomach stretching and can be on either side of your belly, it is nothing to worry about seeing as from here on babies grow at a faster rate. So wouldn't be worrying, just drink some water and lie down on one side! Smile
